Recently, China's first IMAX new-generation laser projection system was spent at the Shanghai Rongying Studios, and the chief technology officer of IMAX, Brian Bonnick, was present at the show to introduce the latest system.
The new generation of laser systems is a research and development project invested by IMAX. It has been tailored to the IMAX screen since its inception. Its distinctive experience stems from the new generation of 4K laser pointer projection system, with a new optical engine and multiple IMAX proprietary technology. For higher resolution, sharper, brighter images, more intense contrast and more vivid, brilliant colors converge on the IMAX giant screen.
According to Brian Bunnik, the brightness of laser IMAX is higher than that of ordinary IMAX, which is more than 60% higher than the standard of the general digital cinema industry. The laser IMAX is a stand-alone projector, a projector, and the digital system is two projectors, which have some cost balance. But overall, new technologies may be slightly higher in cost.
In addition, the new laser projection system has a wider color gamut. More importantly, the breakthrough in hardware, completely redesigned the projector, redesigned the projection principle and core components, from the prism structure to a metal component, so that new technical standards can be achieved.
The goal of Changguang Huaxin is to make domestically produced semiconductor lasers, and this goal needs to be as controllable as possible for every step of the laser chip production process. At present, some domestic propaganda companies that can do domestic cores often only have the ability to design chips, and the core extension and streamline links are outsourced to other vendors. Such a mode is not conducive to the process improvement of the chip, and the performance feedback cycle is too long from chip design to completion.
