Initially, the use of Laser pointer was limited to the fields of science and exploration. Nowadays, with the development of laser technology and general technology, it has a wide range of uses. Many ordinary people use lasers as a source of entertainment. With devices such as laser pointers, this can be achieved, and when used safely and responsibly, it can be very interesting and educational. Other uses of lasers can be found in the fields of medicine and chemistry. Lasers are commonly used in communication and information processing equipment. They are often used in experiments in the scientific field, especially in the chemical field. Lasers are also useful for surgeons and for diagnosing and treating various types of cancer. Laser cutting machines are also common uses for lasers.
More complex indicator designs use the laser engraver diode’s internal photodiode (some laser diodes do integrate it behind the semiconductor chip) as an optical reference. In this case, the laser operates in automatic power control or APC mode. This is more advantageous than the ACC method, but if the temperature of the diode is not actively stabilized, the response of the photodiode depends on the temperature. The stability of this concept is usually within -25% of the RMS within 24 hours. Medium-performance continuous wave lasers use independent photodiodes to monitor the scattering of optical components. If the photodiode is thermally stable, or at least minimizes temperature drift, this sampling will provide satisfactory results. However, whether the laser beam tends to move or change its shape, stability can suffer a lot of damage. This is especially important when it comes to spatial mode jumping or poor beam pointing stability.
