A very good skill learned at the Swiss Patent Office, like all other educators who helped him with general relativity, they had never heard of it. Seeing some questions makes me feel very sad, which makes me think this is a laser pointer website, as a contest who can ask the most absurd questions.
You should never point the laser at an airplane in flight. Imagine you take an Airbus A330 for a short final in a slight crosswind at night. You see the runway, you are counting down the altitude. You are driving in the wind and keep an eye on the runway, heading and airspeed. Suddenly at about 500 feet, you see a bright flash directly into your eyes. You will never see the runway and your instruments anymore.
How far can the laser pointer reach? Technically? To the end of the universe (is there such a thing)... But more practically, it depends on the pointer. Now some "laser pointers" in China are very powerful. They look like lightsabers and scatter dust particles in the atmosphere into the range you can see. (These lasers may be completely legal when they are sold due to their extremely high power.)
If it is a real laser with zero divergence, and there is no medium to attenuate or diverge it, it should have an infinite range. However, the earth's atmosphere does attenuate, and more importantly, it diverges the beam, so this is unrealistic. Even if you can create a laser that is strong enough to penetrate the earth's atmosphere, it will still radiate when it escapes the atmosphere. As the beam further enters space, this will gradually reduce the intensity of the light, causing it to disappear into the background radiation after a certain distance.
This problem continues to appear in various forms, it is actually not related to green laser pointer or pulse energy; light will continue to propagate until it is completely absorbed by something. In space, there is almost no matter that absorbs photons, so it is a function of space composition. One extreme is a true vacuum, and the other extreme is a solid object in the path.
