This pointer pen works like a charm. It does just what it's supposed to do, and I've had no problems connecting it to different laptops for presentations. I like the USB device that lets the pointer communicate with the laptop. It's stored in the base of the pointer when not in use, and it's held in its storage port with a magnetic lock to hold it in until you pull it out to use with the laptop. It's easy to pull out, but it doesn't fall out by accident. The driver for this USB device loads almost instantly, and it works perfectly to move from one PowerPoint chart to another or to go back to an earlier chart. It's totally intuitive, and even an old dog like me can learn this new trick with no problem.
Really glad I lost my other laser pointer/presentation device. Otherwise I wouldn't have purchased this one, which is much better designed. Besides its streamlined design, the USB adapter fits snugly into the end of the pen. I can easily tell if it's missing just by touch. I teach in several different computer labs and classrooms and it seems at least once a semester I encounter someone else's wayward USB adapter in a computer.
Works great! Didn't need to install any drivers, and the design is sleek and convenient (the bluetooth connector is stored as a magnetic slide-in insert that fits the contour of the pointer -- clever!).
Use it everyday in presentations. It's good that you can switch it off on the side, so your battery doesn't get drained if you accidentally have something pressing on the laser button. My previous one always need battery changed because I just threw it in my bag and something pressed the laser button.
