Blue lasers are actually the same type of lasers that are used in Blu-ray technology. Although it is rarely prefered to the green and red ones, it could be used for what others do, which also reflects the individual unique aesthetic taste. As far as presentation pointers go, it can be a nice change of pace to use a blue laser pointer, but much more powerful blue lasers are also available. However it comes down to all other uses such as pinpointing something on the large screen or on the blackboard.

well received my blue and green pencil lasers in the mail today. a bit different than i had expected.. lighter, bigger barrel than my red laser. but threw the batteries in. 2 standard AAA and away i went i was surprised how bright the green was, i grew up with lasers being the next big technology. so just being able to purchase them for under $10 each was wonderful. some of the more expensive brighter lasers one needs glasses for.. these are bright. can be seen easily, but you won\'t accidentally go blind or get headaches if it hits a reflective surface accidentally these are perfect. thanks.. it\'s the cat\'s new favorite toy

In terms of burning power the laser can pop balloons, light matches, burn dark surfaces, and light fireworks. With the beam expander the burning range has been tripled if not more by a distance of up to a meter or two. I highly recommend the laser for those who are just starting to collect lasers; I also recommend the beam expander for any laser you purchase on this site.
