The current European standards for laser products (EN60825-1:2007) are based on GPSD. According to the safety during use, laser products for consumers are divided into multiple levels (1, 1M, 2, 2M, 3R, 3B, and 4). The standard does not restrict which grades of laser products cannot be used by consumers. It only sets requirements in terms of warnings and safety information. Potential actions to reduce the number and severity of laser pointer injuries and accidents-including actions that may not work (for example, permission). The labels on this page are for manufacturers and sellers of Class 2 lasers that emit a visible beam of less than 1 milliwatt.
