Will the use of laser pointers in other countries be punished?
In Switzerland, the use of high power laser pointer is regulated by the Federal Regulations for the Protection of Non-Ionizing Radiation and Sound Hazards (O-LRNIS). From June 1, 2021, only Class 1 laser pointers are still allowed. But please note: Class 1 laser pointers are only allowed in enclosed spaces for demonstration purposes. This means that you cannot use the laser pointer outdoors. The Product Safety Law stipulates that laser pointers must be appropriately classified according to DIN 60825-1. Therefore, as a user, you can determine the type of laser pointer on the instruction manual and device label. If the laser pointer is not accompanied by instructions for use in the native language or is not labeled, it should not be used.
