In order to reduce the total irradiation time of the high powered laser during the attack of laser-guided weapons, a new target tracking algorithm was studied. The laser-guided weapon makes full use of its own INS/GPS integrated navigation, and the error information of the weapon target vector is judged by the covariance in the Kalman filter. The algorithm should ensure that the weapon can hit the target within the margin of error at all times. Therefore, there is a maximum error limit for not being able to hit the target at every moment of flight. When the error is about to exceed the limit, the weapon can require a brief target laser shot. The laser measurement azimuth information of the target can improve the vector estimation of the weapon target, and it can also be fed back to the Kalman filter to improve the estimation of the inertial state. Simulation experiments show that the algorithm can effectively shorten the laser irradiation time and reduce the risk of the irradiation unit while ensuring the accuracy of fire strikes.

According to the working principle of laser terminal guidance, the performance index of laser irradiation indicator is analyzed, and the digital detection method of each performance index is proposed. It adopts analog echo and precision delay circuit to detect the irradiation ability, and uses CCD to collect the laser spot to test the laser beam divergence, which realizes the digital detection of the performance of the whole machine. It can measure the energy, pulse interval, frequency accuracy and other parameters of each laser pulse in each irradiation period, and plot the waveform in the same pulse sequence diagram.
