Did you know that level 3 laser Pointers are illegal?

Lasers with output powers between 5mW and 500mW are classified as class IIIb or IEC class 3B. Class IIIb lasers may not be used as laser Pointers or demonstration laser products for legal advertising. Product labels and instructions must describe the hazard classification and output characteristics of the product. Class IIIb handheld lasers are too dangerous to use as Pointers or recreational products. In addition, the promotion of Class IIIb or IEC Class 3B products used for pointing or entertainment violates FDA requirements and U.S. law. Manufacturers of these products may be required to repair, replace, or refund the purchase price of nonconforming products sold in the United States. These products can also be detained and seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection when they are imported.
