Look for brighter and more expensive laser pointers

There are brighter but more expensive options out there. I will be able to pass this laser on to my grandkids. I stopped looking for a green high power laser pointer and bought this one. However, at least for now, he's a crazy stupid powerful. At first I didn't quite understand how to change to a different mode. The way to switch modes is to lightly press the "on" button cap 2 or 3 times, depending on the mode you want. I like the ten o'clock programming feature. This switch took me a bit of getting used to, but mostly because it's different from the green laser I bought to replace. I chose JETLASERS because I have several weapon lasers made by them and they are very useful to me. I sent it and got the replacement very quickly (less than a week round trip).

Changing jobs for a few months is no problem. I accidentally dropped it on the concrete floor a few times with no apparent ill effects. I don't recommend a 500mW laser pointer, but don't worry if you happen to drop it. I love that it has eye-catching glasses on the front and back. You think a threatening product like this wouldn't be so tricky. I reset all switches and tried again, but nothing. It's good enough for me to see, but not as powerful as some of the other laser pointers I own. Then I noticed that the red switch seemed to pop out of the casing. I ran out of power and threw it away. One day I tried to show it to a friend, but it didn't work. Then I noticed little sparks all over the mirror around the light when I pressed the button. I never left the unit for more than a second, and probably only a dozen times.
