Where can you get a laser pointer?
Astronomical lasers and laser pointers are used in many different applications in a variety of professional and personal fields. From different output powers, beam colors, safety and design features to accessories and lifetimes, there can be a lot of information to sift through before purchasing a specific laser. This is the most common and often the most important aspect for potential high power laser pointer. Comparing different laser colors and output powers is important because each laser color and output power has a different visibility factor. A 300mW green laser pointer will be as bright and have the same visible distance as a 1,200mW blue laser, but it will burn about 1/6 the power of a 1,200mW blue beam.

I tested the red laser first and to my surprise it was only slightly cheaper than my 1-5mW. I thought to myself, "I'm going to use this as an everyday pointer." Then I fired the purple laser, and it was only slightly brighter than the red. I also find it interesting.
